For dry skin, the ingredient can be found in some extremely hydrating night creams and overnight masks while those preferring lighter applications can opt for hyaluronic acid based serums.

To be honest, I was not a big fan of skincare or cared much about what I used on my face. But things changed after I met a friend a few years ago. I used to see her, watch how she constantly spent all her money buying products that made no sense to me. Until, of course, she pushed me into taking care of my skin. And it’s been quite a journey since then. I can actually see a huge difference in my skin. 

That said, let me introduce you to the second-best ingredient that will definitely suit a 30-year-old you – Vitamin C. This is one of the major ingredients that can help with acne blemishes, scars, uneven texture, and fine lines.

Nothing mentioned above will work properly until you apply sunscreen. And yes, sunscreen is a must for all skin types and colors. You cannot go a day without sunscreen because UVA and UVB rays are causing maximum damage to your skin. 

This means that you need to apply sunscreen that can help you fight the deadly rays and all the skin damage that comes with it. If you’re confused about which sunscreen to apply. Here’s what you need to do. 

First and foremost, always prefer a mineral sunscreen over a chemical one. Mineral sunscreens do not have harmful chemicals like oxybenzone. Or else, go for a chemical sunscreen that does not contain oxybenzone and has a high concentration of UVA and UVB filters. 

Second, read the ingredient list (although that goes for every skincare product you purchase) and watch out for the bad ones. For example, products containing fragrance, alcohol, and comedogenic compounds that block your skin pores. Do not buy products containing these ingredients. Instead, go for a sunscreen that has no chemicals or fragrances. 

Third, prefer a sunscreen rich in zinc or titanium oxide. These will definitely provide your skin the protection it actually needs. Last but not least, apply three fingers full sunscreen to your face and neck area. It doesn’t matter whether you’re indoors or outdoors, you have to keep the three-finger rule in mind. Moreover, applying sunscreen should be the last step in your skincare regime. In other words, once you are done applying serums, toners, moisturizers, AHA, etc, pick up your sunscreen and let it be the last step.
